Actron scanner wont work
Well I have the dreaded check engine light on my 05.
So I plugin my Actron OBDII code scanner to read the code and it wont work.
This thing has saved my butt numorus times on my 98 TA.
Did something change? Was ODBII changed so my scanner no longer works?

OBDII has changed (or is changing). The original spec was a mess, it sort of pulled together the various physical layers used by GM, Ford, Chrysler, most Asian manufacturers and many European manufacturers. So a code scanner had to support 5 different protocols.
As of .. 2008 as I recall .. all of these different physical layers are replaced by a single faster one, the Bosch CAN protocol. GM started the transition a few years ago with new models like the C6.
So you'll need a code scanner that supports CAN, or an adapter or upgrade to your existing scanner.
If your Actron scanner is a CP9145 or 9150 there's an upgrade available from them. I don't know about other models.
Most of the newer models do support CAN. I know that the AutoXray 4000 works with the C6; that's the only one I've used personally.
