speedometer question
it is my understanding the the speedometers (two if you've got the hud) use an electrical connection from the top of the diff. to determine and display the speed of the vehicle.
back in the old mechanical days one could swap out the 'speedo' gear in the side of the tranny to adjust the speedo as needed.
is there any similiar adjustment one could make to the c6 ?
It is adjusted automatically by the ECM. I switched to 4.10 gears and didnt have to adjust anything. Chuck from Corvettes of Westchester explained how it works to me exactly, but I couldnt repeat it.
the vehicle spped sensor isnt in the tranny on these cars it actually reads off the ring gear itself , when you change gears the new gears already read correctly. If you have a manual your ok , auto though sometimesneed shift points altered a little.
With a manual you don't need a speedo recalibration. Same with the Auto.
EXCEPT: your shift points will be way off with the auto. You will have to recalibrate to make the transmission shift correctly again.
