Default retune with headers

Hi guys. I wanted to ask the expert regarding tuning. I am planning to get AR Headers with cat and cross pipe for my 07 Z06. I've had it tuned couple of months ago, so do I have to retune it?

You can probably get some extra power with the re-tune. But why not drive it first and see how it is w/o the tune?

There will be a some more hp in there with it retuned, but it's up to you whether or not it's worth the $$$.

I had my car tuned with headers and then had my computer replaced by GM. My tuner told me not to bother with a tune again until I did some other mods. I did plan on doing the mods in a couple of months so he told me to wait and save the $. I'm sure the tune will help but if your planning on any other mods why not wait,....just my .02

You probably don't have to get it retuned, however I had my 06A6 tuned by Jeremy Formato and due to delivery problems could not put headers on till after tune was done. He gave me a tune that he felt would be OK, and would throw any codes. I had him tweek it and we picked up additional horsepower(20), just goes to show you all engines are different.

FYI; You will probably set P0420 & P0430 codes (Catalyst efficiency codes)...thats the most common DTC's tripped when headers are installed.

I would get another tune but you don't have to get it tuned again, you would definately get a some more power though.

You need to have it adjusted for the changes and possible codes. Call me and we can easily take carte of it.

Saw a guy this summer at a tuners with:

05 MN6 Z51 - no prior tuning but added:
LG Longtubes
Calloway CAI
Borla Cat Back w/X pipe

His baseline dyno was 368 before the tune, 379 after.

The question for you is:

Is 11 RHWP worth $500? And in your case you have probably gained 8-10 HP with your current tune. Most likely you will get less than 11.
