Default Predator Help Needed/

To the knowledgeable Predator users, I need help. I just had my Comp Cam installed along with my heads ported with new springs etc.

The cam is a XR275HR 222/224, 566/568, 112 LSA.

Problem: Since the idle is rough I am throwing a CEL, which only is at idle. When I start to cruise the CEL goes off.

How do I get the CEL to stay off at idle?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the rest of my engine mods please refer to my signature.

I hooked up the predator and thought there would be a parameter for Random Misfires but I could not find one. I went through diagnostics and cleared the P0300 Random Misfire Codes.

I started the car up and the CEL came on as usual and then went off. Didn't take the car out because of the bad weather.

With the new cam, the knock sensors may be causing the code. I don't know if you have the ability with the hand held to turn down the sensitivity or to just turn them off completely. You may need to find someone with the CMR software to do that for you.

Thanks and you are right the knock sensors are triggering off the CEL with a P0300 code. Took the car out on a shake down run and the CEL came back on diagnostic check P0300 random misfire.

I also noted that I will have to raise my idle rpm by a 100. Should be able to do that with the Predator.

suprised you didn't go with a higher lsa,, like 114 or higher with that mild of a cam. would almost idle like stock.

Think I got it figured out, I raised the idle park/neutral speed up 100 rpms and the idle drive upp 50 rpms. So far no CEL and the engine is running much better no surging and hunting for the correct idle speed.

Even with the 112 LSA no problems with the brakes and air conditioning running.

Now to find a good dyno tuner in Hawaii.

Okay did a shakedown run after upping my idle rpms. Thre another CEL which was again a P0300 Random Misfire.

Upped the idle rpms another 50 rpms and the engine smoothed out. Took it out and no CEL, keeping fingers crossed on this.
