Default tuning question

This is a newbie question. When you add a higher flow intake system or exhaust system doesn't the computer system change the air fuel ratio and/or other parameters to compensate for additional air flow. I thought that was the pupose of the Mass Air Flow sensor, or is the adjustable range too small for this large of an increase in airflow?

Thanks?

Tom

from what I understand, it will adjust but it will take time. Once it has adjusted, your LTRIMS will more than likely be a bit high. I have no idea what effect this has though, if any. A tuner can tune it so your LTRIMS are back down where they should be.

by stock cars are set to use the maf at 5000 rpms so it should adjust slightly after that rpm. Also he is right the long term fuel trims will also try and compensate as well. However its always best to do a tune after any mods
