hi all,i have a 2008 a6 c6,i wanted to know, when tm is disabled on an automatic .is it totally taken off or is there some sort percetage its brought down on average? thanks
It all depends on how you tune it out. There are tables that allow incremental adjustments in different areas but most will tell you they can't even feel a change with them maxed out. Turn off the master switches and you have a whole new car. Now, this doesn't mean there aren't tables the tuners haven't discovered/released yet.
Personally I think a lot is missing because you should be able to feel a difference by adjusting tables to get the exact amount of TM you feel comfortable with. But until those are uncovered people are just turning it off. Do a search and you'll find exactly what you're able to do.

With HP Tuners it's an all or nothing thing - there is no in-between. Vector Motorsports (I'm not sure where they're based out of) devised their own tuning system and apparently can take out a certain percentage of it, something neither HP or EFILive can do.
I was ready to pull the trigger on letting Vector do just the transmission part of my tune but then realized that they lock the TCM. I would have been okay if this just prevented me from seeing (or undoing) any of the changes that they made, but it would have prevented me from doing anything to the transmission from that point forward and that quite simply is unacceptable.
