Is it possible to raise the rev limiter on the C6 with the predator with a tuner locked tune on your car????

The predator can raise the rpm and speed limiter, however if you have a locked tune, there is nothing that can be done as only the tuner who locked the ECU can make any changes, which is why I went with the predator, not the best but it is something I can make changes to .

Beyond the locked tune issue, I don't see how you could change a tune done by tuner with the Predator because the tuner is using a different software platform (for ex., EFILIve, HPtuners). Now if you had the tuner's software and it wasn't locked, it would seem you could make the adjustments. It just doesn't seem logical since the software codes would be incompatible.

the tune is locked, so you can't do anything...

C6cmnthru - while you're correct the software codes would be different - that would only apply if you were trying to edit the tune files in the actual software... for example, trying to open up a HP tune file in EFILive software...

but, once the tune is written to the ECM, it's all written back in a standard GM format... that's why if someone has a custom tune done to their car, the predator can still save it as the "original backup", you can modify it using the factory hp tune option - since that's just a copy of the original backup tune anyway, etc etc...

now, if the tuner used HPTuners or something else, and did a full/complete flash with a custom OS, then that's a different story...

but either way, since the PCM is locked, you can't do anything to it at all anyway... you have to take it back to the tool that locked it on ya and have him make the change... then tell him not to lock it again.

Thanks for all the input!!!!I don't really think 200 extra rpm is going to give me much more power!! I have the VRX cam installed with all the extras at vengance racing and have the long tubes with the stinger exhaust. totally happy but always looking for more....VNVETT
