Locked PCM Issues
I took my C6 in for a SC install, and the tune was locked even though everyone SWEARS they don't lock their tunes.... So we had to wait for a Tech 2 to flash the PCM to stock to complete the tune.
Follow so far? PERFECT!
This morning after the PCM flash, the car no longer recognizes the key FOB, and the car won't start.... So we are waiting until Monday to speak with GM about some software that will enable the PCM to recognize the FOB.
Is there anyway around this?
Furthermore, when things like this come up, it makes me doubt the ability of the people that I've left my prize possession in the hands of. Now I won't sleep this weekend FOR SURE!
I hate to borrow trouble, but I'm guessing the next call from them will be "Hey Keith, your engine blew up on the dyno, sorry"...
Sigh...
Mine was supposedly re-flashed, but now the FOB's don't recognize the PCM, and won't control/unlock the car. I really don't have all the details, just what was explained to me.
First off, what was the car tuned with?
Was it tuned with LS2 Edit? If so then a better option may have been reflashed to stock with LS2 edit, if thats what was used on it, instead of the Tech 2. Thats could be why its not recognizing the key FOBs now.
Are you getting that little padlock icon on the instrument cluster when they go to try and start the car?
Joys of modding.

Sorry to say, but this is probably where things had they gone differently, maybe would have worked out better.
Who knows what happened when they reflashed it back with that Tech 2?
Calling LPE to find out what the ECM had been tuned with maybe would have helped. Check to see if they were using LS2 Edit.
At that point, the ECM could have been returned to them and reflashed back to stock, virgin condition using whatever they used to tune it with and returned to you and put back into the car and tuned with whatever the new shop is using to tune with.
Or if someone on the island had a copy of LS2 Edit, if thats what it had been tuned with, then they may have been able to reflash it back to stock.
Older versions of LS2 Edit were effectively locking tunes by default and some tuners were giving people back locked ECMs and not realizing that they were doing so. This could be what happened in your case.
There were cases described on this and other forums, where an ECM tuned with LS2 edit could not be reflashed to stock with a Tech 2. How much difficulty, if any, did they have reflashing it back to stock with the Tech 2?
