Default Mucho Help PLEASE!

So my PCM is locked, and cannot be reflashed as it stands today.

This is what has been going on the past few days http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-s...cm-issues.html

It looks like I'm going to need a new PCM, and need one fast!

Can anyone get me one flown out in the early AM tomorrow overnight to Hawaii? PLEASE!

This is the last I've heard from my installer....

Keith,
As I said when we spoke I'm pretty sure it's HP Tuners Tunerlock, that's what it appears to be to me. The LS2 edit won't read it either as well as my HP tuners. The FOBS actually work fine now, but Still won't enable the download.
No computers on the island at this time, Shaun will be checking stateside for the fastest way to get one here after talking to LPE. Maybe I can get LPE to swap the ECU for a stock one.
I will keep you apprised
I will keep your baby safe....
Cya,
Bode

TTT for you. I wish I was there to help you out! If you had a Tech II on the island (and an HPT dongle) then I could resurrect your PCM (unless it's phsyically damaged).

Thanks Ed!

No damage, just locked.

I'm sure BSM will have one flown in by Wednesday, and have it set up by GM, then get this done by Friday or Saturday. Probably cost me some extra cabbage, but heh, it's only money....

Spying Beast,

If you have any issues getting your tune worked out, then just let me know. I'll gladly help you. I could probably help you over email if you are stuck on the island without a tuner!

If you need any HPT lessons/help, then I'd be glad to fly out and help you free of charge. All I'd ask is that you pay my airfare and find a sofa for me to crash on for the day or two I'm there!

actually, if the dealer with the TechII updated your pcm to "fix" it, it's likely you got locked by the GM update...

the last updates put out by GM were messed up, and were locking the ECM's... the TechII can't even read it after that point.

Well, don't know if this means anything related to this topic.
When I got the Predator programmer Feb of 07 it had the 8R04 revision in it.
Loaded the Performance program into my EXT.
Since new, when loading the Performance tune the screen said "not supported for this vehicle" and I jumped around on a few screens and loaded it anyway.
Worked great so never gave it another thought ... loaded and unloaded it multiple times since then.
Couple weeks ago picked up the C6.
Removed the Performance Tune from the EXT and Updated the newest 9R07 Revision off the Diablo site into the Programmer so it will work in the Vette.
** I haven't installed the new Revision Tune into the EXT or the Vette,...
A little hesitant to do anything right now with the Vette.

Point of interest: since I took the Tune out of the EXT,.. it "almost" runs like the tune is still in there
Been driving it over a week now and can tell it's not the Performance Tune, shifts too soon and a bit sluggish accelerating onto the highway, but a little hard to tell if I didn't know better..
I double checked the Tuner and it says the stock tune was replaced in the EXT so who knows.
I'm wondering why it always said "does not support this vehicle" for the past 2 years but still worked

Any thoughts?

Thanks man, I really appreciate the offer. If the guys can't get this worked out soon, I may take you up on that.

Honestly, I think this is exactly what happened.

First it was only locked through the original tuner. Then the Tech II guy came & flashed it, and now it's DEAD LOCKED.

Having said that, if I buy a new PCM/ECM and take it to GM for the VIN flash, will it lock it up again?

Ask GM not to apply the most recent OS update to your new VCM (if you send it to a dealership).

Actually, your tuner can do EVERYTHING [to the VCM] that GM will do if you have the VCM drop-shipped directly to them...

I'm sorry guys, what's a VCM, and how does that differ from a PCM, or ECM? Just so I'm on the same page....

Thanks for the info!

If any of you have what I need as far as PCM/VCM/ECM's go PLEASE call me. I need to get one flown here ASAP regardless of cost....
