Default Worth getting a retune??

I was fortunate enough to purchase my 08 vette from a forum member that has a lot of GREAT work done to it. k&n intake, ported throttle body and intake manifold, ported ls3 heads, ligenfelter gt11 cam, dynatech headers, xpipe, and magnaflow exhaust. My dyno numbers are the following, 467hp and 433 trq. I was told conservative tune. Well, you can never have too much and from what Ive been looking at 500 rwhp seems reasonable with this set up. Any advice/ideas/opinions. thanks.

Depends on what they call conservative.

We're down in Va Beach. I've built and tuned a mess of the LS3s. If you wanna come down for a dyno and have me evaluate your tune you can. Cost would be minimal for us to check it. It's almost impossible to know if there's more in it without seeing what the A/F is on the dyno, and looking at the tune.

Those are VERY good numbers with your set up and I doubt that you would gain much from a re-tune but it would not cost much to have someone else look at it. Did you get a print out with the A/F ratio?

Actually, they are much stronger than I would have thought with your set up which is very close to mine. My car has ported 243 castings and your dyno numbers are about 40 rwhp more.

Are you sure its got GT11 cam? Could it be the GT1-1?

If you want more, FAST intake and a cam with more duration would be the first areas to look at. Then drivability will be impacted.

His is an LS3. Totally different animal. And no FAST intake for it yet.

Whoops, forgot FAST does not have an intake for the LS3.

My primary question is this:

Does it make sense that a ported LS3 should make 40 more rwhp than a ported LS2 with the same cam, headers, etc??

Yes. The engine is larger, and the heads flow like Niagara Falls!! The LS3s are VERY responsive to mild cams. I've done cam/header cars that make 475 or so.

Just might have to take you up on that offer. Va beach is not a far drive and I could make a long weekend out of it. Looks like my tune was on a dynojet. a/f is 12.33 to about 13 throughout the curve.
