Dynocom Dyno?
A friend of mine has one and runs imports on it, I can throw the Vette on for free but Im concerned about the accuracy of the numbers.
Ive heard not all dynos are the same or as good as the next and dont want to waste my time or his...
To qualify the accuracy I try to look at some of the operator dyno runs on various other cars. I compare the runs to other dyno's such as DJ & Mustang, that gives you an idea of the frictional loss of that particular dyno.
The operator should be able to qualify that also giving various comparisons, explaining the difference between the advertised HP & what they are seeing RWHP.
I recently spent a bit of time on Dyno Dynamics, they had a dyno day & one was stock C6 Z06 , it showed three back to back runs of 445 RWHP.
Another C5 showed higher than expected numbers, I downloaded the tune & found major changes. The owner (new car to him) removed the valve covers, found different valve springs so the car had most likely been modified then the headers etc. probably removed.
My answer to your question regarding accuracy, that comes down to dyno operator not the manufacturer.
Also, the guy with the controls in his hand has the ability to make numbers as well. Most dyno manufactures will there hardware to standards, so the dyno may not be the question. If you do avail yourself of the opportunity, makes sure the unit is capable of handling your RWHP and RWTQ numbers.
