Just purchased an SCT X3 model # 3400 from ECS. Just waiting for the tune from ECS. Have an 08 bone stock. Soon as i get it installed ill update ya. Had an issue getting it to download stock tune by tech support at SCT quickly resolved the issue.

The tuner will download your base tune into 3 separate files.
Send those 3 files to a tuner of choice via email as those contain your vin to create your new file. Let them know your mods if any and any special tuning requests. They will send you back your tune which is just 1 file. You need to update the programmer with the latest firmware from the sct site. The firmware update for me anyway showed it didnt load 100% and just stopped but worked fine. Once you loaded your file to the tuner and hook it up to the car ensure the ignition switch is set to the accessory position initially and when it asks to turn it on move the switch upwards as the tuner needs to sense the system activation for it to load the tune, The above should get you to load your tune, hope this helps. If i missed something or there is a different way of doing the update please let me know. Overall I'm pleased with my tune from ECS. I know there r other tuners that supply the same services and YMMV. Take care

Great to hear, thanks!
The only issue we have with using the SCT hand held is that we have to "middle man" SCT for the down load process. I wish we did not have to rely on them for this process, but at this point we do. Sometimes it can lengthen the time in between returning your stock tune to us and when you receive your ECS tune, but it sure beats the option of removing your TCM controller from the trans itself, or using a "canned" tune from one of the standard hand held manufacturers.

Hey Doug,
I believe if you pay for the complete GM package then you will have the access to do that on site without bothering with SCT between tunes. I have SCT software for Fords, and I use HP Tuners for GM, and since the majority is HPT or EFI live, depending on your customer base it not be worth the cash!
I found the tune from ECS just what i was looking for my current stock C6 for both motor and trans.. I live in iowa so i would have to travel aways for any tuning / dyno work. No i havent put it on the dyno , if that was an option i wouldve paid the money to just have that done. The throttle response is instant without the lag and the transmission tuning and the transmission shifts are crisp and smooth with torque management adujusted accordingly, but not neck snapping, Disclaimer i'm an novice in this area so your actual experiance may vary. Doug has been very helpful and accessible in answering any technical questions that i've asked of him. Take care , mark
