Default Tuning

Greetings.

I have a 2010 GS and would like to start tuning it.

I have tuned TURBO OBDII 4cly. before so I have a decent background.
I'd love it if someone experienced with the LS3 could throw out some LS3 highlights that I should watch for. I have read many threads here but not yet found one that reads easy in an organized fassion without strong opinion injected into it.

Also, is HP the only way to go software wise? There website shows that their latest version is "now Windows Vista" compatible.

I kinda like Windows7 myself.

Yea man... its gonna be awesome! When I'm done I expect to have like.. 900 HP and get 85 mpg. Yea!!!

Srsly.. I'm not that guy. I just want to know what's going on under the hood of my ride.

Thx.

Welcome to the LS World! I also had experience in the 4 cyl turbo world (Mitsu abd Subie), but this has been quite a bit different to me. The concepts are similar, but the GM ECM is quite a bit different. It's a learning process, but fun stuff to learn. HP tuners has a forum that you can learn a LOT on. Also LS1tech I believe. the tuning school.com home course is pretty good as well. Good Luck and keep us posted on your results. BTW- HP tuners works fine with win 7.

Yep, HpTuners works fine on Win7 -- been doing it since Win7 beta.

ls1tech.com and hptuners.com have more traffic than here for tuning. As said above - the E38 has a different learning curve, and the VE tables are virtual now (hptuners has a thread on that if you want to tune VE). But it should all be familiar territory to you - like riding a bike.

EFILive is the other software program. I have no experience with it.
