My headers and catted x-pipe just came in today, the car is being dropped off at the shop to get installed, and I was wondering if a tune was necessary after they get installed with the borla catback exhaust?
What are the cons if I didn't go with a tune? Will the car ride rough, etc? Sorry for the newbe question, but this is my first corvette. With my mustang GT, I didn't get a tune, and it didn't ride any different, but then again I only got that exhaust for the sound. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on having a C6, and yes you will need a tune for your headers and catless x pipe. There are plenty of threads here in the forum if you type it in the search. Just look it up, you will not get the total power out of your setup without a tune....

If you have cats you should have no problems without a tune. A tune always helps you get the best power but if you don't see a check engine light don't sweat it.
Tune absolutely not necessary - but would be optimum to get everything possible from the header investment.
Check with your tuner on his prices. Are you going to do any more upgrades soon? A fast intake in 3 months for example?
Some tuners charge full price each time - so you might wait 3 months and get it all done at once.
Other tuners only charge a "small" fee for tune changes. So it might be easier to pay for 2 tunes within a few months from each other.
Personally, I installed my headers myself -- then spent 3 months learning hptuners before I actually had a decent "tune" in it. It doesn't hurt anything. But you might get error codes from the rear O2's in the meantime....
Thanks for everyone's input. I am putting the headers and exhaust on it, so she can sound good while I'm home. I do have a vararam that I am not putting on right now. I do play on getting the Fast Intake/TB combo in the future. I'll probably wait until I get that, then have it and the vararam installed together, then go with the tune. I just don't want to be messing anything up.
This is my first vette, I'm blessed to own one at a young age, and I don't want to mess it up in anyway if I can prevent it.
