I got my programmer this week and followed the instructions. Pulled the stock ibu out of my car. I then installed the software on my computer. I plugged in the hand held so it would detect it and install the drivers. I started the sct software and it came up with "there is an update..." So I said yes, it downloaded and now the handheld says file system not found. Please reload it.
I tried the up grade again and no change. I performed the firmware reinstall with pressing the cancel button and plugged it in. Uploaded the file and still no change.
What do I need to do to get this thing running?
Have anybody else had this problem and what was done to solve it?
It took 3 weeks for the programmer to get here and I don't want to send it back and wait another 6 weeks to get it back. Mods are going on the car next weekend.
Are you using wi-fi or hard wired? I had a Superchips tuner a while back, and had the same issue. Their customer service said don't use wi-fi for updates. They instructed me to change some settings in my PC and all was good. Don't recall what though! Call ECS first, and I'll bet you'll get fixed up.
I called ECS but they are not open until Monday cause of the holiday. The handheld was hardwired to my computer which had the update downloaded to it. No network issue. I am going to try using my laptop today and see if I can get it to work.
Thanks for the response though.
Well tried it on my laptop and no good. Downloaded all the update software from sct and tried again. Nothing.
I guess I will have to wait till monday. Hopefully it is a fix over the phone thing.

I had two people this weekend with the same issue for whatever reason. You are best off to start with the help line from SCT themselves, they know their software installation corks much better then I do actually. It depends on what is on your computer etc, so I may never see that issue here, but they sure have. Feel free to contact me if there are still issues after speaking with them.
not to take anything away from ECS, have you considered speaking with Champion Motors, they are near you and do in house custom tuning and mechanical. Your upgrades can be done there and tuned at the same time. They do a lot of vettes
Well it got solved today when I talked to SCT.
Doug, the two people was probably me sending an email and phone message to you.
The issue is, SCT had a few hand helds that would lock up when upgraded. SCT has released an update but it is not available on there site yet. Ken from SCT connected to my PC, downloaded the latest and greatest files to it going. Great customer service.
Thanks again. Now I will pull the tune tomorrow out of the car and send it to you Doug to have it changed for my mods.
BTW guys, there is an update that will be available soon for the programmer from SCT. In the meantime, do not update the programmer when prompted too. SCT has had some problems with there server which caused my issue. They said should have resolved in a week or so. If you have a problem, call them.

I am sure these guys are good but I have done custom programming in the past with some past vehicles. I do all my own installs for parts from an air intake, exhaust to custom fabrication for racing parts. I am fairly good mechanical, and I can program well. But not as good as a tuner that does it day in and day out.
The reason I went to the hand held programmer from ECS is I can go back to stalk at anytime. This way I don't have to depend on a tuner to put it back or modify it. ECS is e-mail tune so this helps in my situation.
Now if I go FI, I will definately not be e-mail tuning and be on the dyno.
