Default How to question on fan programming.

In HP Tuners it appears the lowest temp to turn on the radiator fans is 192 deg.

Are any of you able to program them to a lower temp and if so which table are you doing it in?

Thanks for any info.

I think the 192* is the first increment in the pcm. I don't know of a software way around that. Others more familiar may know otherwise. There are adjustable stand alone thermostatic switches that will allow lower temps, but then you have taken the pcm out of the equation.

If you go with the HPT custom 2 bar you will be able to program them as low as 160* along with a lot of other cool stuff with that OS. I will be converting this fall.

This is the only way I know of. I just upgraded to the 2 bar OS and that is a great feature.

Thanks for the info, how do you upgrade the HP Tuners 2 bar?

Is it something I can just upgrade to from their website or something entirely new?

Thanks,

Word to the wise - don't turn your fan settings above 90%...you will burn out your fan connector.

Also, if you turn the fan above 75% (IIRC) in the 192 degree cell, it'll run all the time. Not good.

Here are my settings. With a 160 degree thermostat it runs 180 on the highway and 192 around town.

192 196 199 203 207 210 214 217 221 225 228 232 235 239 243

If you already have your car licensed to HPT then there is an option when you open the program. You just have to apply more credits.
