Default Ordered a Intune

Well I made it a week of owning the car before I have started the journey towards modding it.

Decided to order the Diablosport Intune last night and am hoping to be able to firm up the shifts in the A6 a little.

So far the only mods to the car are an intake and an exhaust. I've got a wideband and plan on just using the Intune to do some logging at first.

Eventually I will be looking for someone local to put the car on a dyno and dial it in.

Any reputable tuners in the Seattle/Portland that anyone can recccomend/

You know, you can tie the WB into the intune and log AFR with your OBDII data.
You could safely make WOT fueling adjustments with the intune in this manner

Thanks Mike

I kept the Dynojet WBC that in a previous vehicle when I sold. Any suggestions on where to have the bung welded in on the C6?

Don't know that I will tie it in to the Intune or not. It has the cabability to log RPM, TPS and AFR.

I'm curious about the Intune, I see from reading the Diablo forums that several updates have been done. What steps should I take prior to hooking it up to the car.

Is there any software I should download now to have ready when it arrives?

Thanks in advance.

From my results using DiabloSport tuners I don't think you need to waste any more money on a dyno tune. I hold the "bolt-on" Grand Sport record at the moment using a DiabloSport "canned" tune which could be adjusted and the guy in second place has all the same stuff but more expensive including a dyno tune and he is over 4 tenths slower, check it out in the performance 1/4 mile listings.

Also I just posted in the performance section where I ran a modified ZL1 today.

I have switched from the Predator tuner to the new Intune tuner because the Intune has the capability to tune the A6 transmission, is a lot smaller and DiabloSport has made it a lot easier to update the Intune. I am no expert on this stuff so maybe Mike or someone else can chime in.

The tool should be relatively up to date whenyou get it, but updating it could not be easier, plug it into a PC, allow the auto update software to run,and walk away

Ideally you'll never need to visit our website for anything

Let me know if you need anything once you have the tool...

BTW< as GSMan mentioned, he set the GS record with the canned tune from a Predator, which means he still had a bone stock TCM tune in the car when he made that pass...pretty darn impressive and there will be more to come once his TCM is dialed in

Intune was on my doorstep when I got home tonight. Have it hooked up to the computer and letting it do it's updates.

Patience is not one of my stronger points.

Updating is a good thing, let it run through its paces, and when it gets back to the main menu its ready to rock.

Thanks Mike. I had a couple of little glitches but I think I figured them out. Here is a post that I put up on the Diablo board, any comments you have would be appreciated. I was concerned about the USB drivers not wanting to install and not being able to fine the intune.exe file to run as an administator, gettting the errors and then the device updating itself anyway. I then realized that the Intune is actually installing two drives, a virtual CD drive (on which the intune.exe file is located) and a separate USB drive where the log data is stored) I was able to get beyond that and run intune.exe as an admin and am no longer getting the USB drivers not found error when connecting the device. I really just think the instructions could be a little more clear on what is going on. I'm a fairly sharp guy and it stumped me for a few minutes. I also did quite a bit of reading the last few days on the diablo forums and my biggest concern was that my TCM wouldn't be recongnized. I was pleasantly suprised and relieved to find that it was. I now just need to play around with the tunes a little and do some logging and have some fun.

Thanks for your help.

Hi all,

I just recieved my Intune. I followed all the instructions and it appeared to have a little glitch when I first connected it to my computer to make sure it was updated prior to tuning my Corvette.

Initially I got an error that the usb drivers could not be installed, I waited a little bit and then the Intune updater appearred on my computer and it begin to download updates. I just left it alone and let it do its thing. It finally rebooted and all seemed well but I was concerned about the USB error I had recieved earlier in the initial connection. So I disconnected the USB port and reconnected. Again I got errors that USB drivers had failed to install, but also the intune updater screen appeared and it stated that the device was up to date.

I searched here on the forums and read a couple of posts about running Intune.exe as an administrator. It was at this point that I made a discovery. I was browsing My Computer and noticed that Intune installs itself as a CD drive and another drive as a USB drive. Initially I could not find the intune.exe file and finally realized that I was looking on the "USB" portion of the unit as opposed to the "CD Drive" portion of the unit. Eventually I found the intune.exe file on the CD Drive portion and right clicked and ran it as an administrator. All appears to be well in that department now.

I really think that the instructions could be a little more clear on this portion of the install.

I then decided to go ahead and hook it up to my OBD port in the car. I had read some posts about some TCM's not being recognized. I was pleasantly suprised to see that not only was my ECU recognized and that I had three options available. Modify Stock, 91 Octane, and Diablosport Tune. I chose the 91 Octane tune as I only have available 92 ethanol free fuel available here at this time. Intune then prompted me to select a TCM tune. It gave me the choice to install a firm tune, a hard tune, or modify stock if I recall correctly. At this point I selected the firm tune. I followed the rest of the prompts and allowed it to write the ECU and TCM.

Here are my current concerns and observations.

1. I would like to do some datalogging and learn a little more about what the car is doing on the stock tune first so I will likely return it to stock tomorrow and just monitor the default PID's

It was late tonight and with the BB exhaust my wife was pissed that I even started the car with the daughter asleep. (Had to do it just to do a short log)
what should I look for and be concerned about.

2. Which PID's are most important and where can I learn more about tuning.

3. I noticed when pushing some of the prompts with my fat fingers it didn't always want to recognize that I had pressed a icon. I see that under Settings...Advanced there is a touchscren calibration. Should I use this to see if it helps. Should I return the car to stock prior to doing this. I'm assuming I have to write down the code sequence and then enter the sequence on the following screen.

4. What can I expect to be different between the Firm and Hard TCM tunes.

Anyway, so far I'm impressed with the device and looking forward to driving the car tomorrow.

Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for posting up that thread. I got my intune installed and am looking to go have some fun tomorrow.

I'd love to be able to run a mid 12 second pass at least once. Hopefully the intune will help get me there.

the driver issue only happens if your not listed as the admin on the PC, but as you see its not tough to get around.
We'll work on the documentation, glad you got it sorted out

Enjoy!!

No problem, thanks for all your help.

Really appreciated the tip on using a stylus. That has solved my "big thumb" issue with the buttons.

Played with the Firm tune today. Going to install the Hard tune this weekend and go play with a FacFive GTM that a friend is building.

Hoping the rain goes away

Loving it so far. Best fuel I can get locally is 92 ethanol free. So I have only loaded the 91 Tune so far. I'm going to let the fuel trims settle in. Do a little datalogging over the weekend and watch how things play out with KR and timing.

I will probably load it this weekend when I get access to some better fuel and if the roads dry out up here a little.

Overall, I'd buy again.

Can you just load up a tune and drive it like you stole it or do you have to let the tune settle?

Yes, you can load up a tune and drive it with no problems.

I'm just playing around with datalogging and need to let the fuel trims settle a little bit prior to sending the logs off to have lew do a custom tune for my mods.
