Default Trinity/Intune experience

I purchased a Diablosport Trinity 1000 which has a larger display and some extra features but like the Intune allows you to transfer a canned or custom tune to the Corvette.

After updating the Trinity to the latest Diablosport Downloader and GM canned tune software I backed up/married the tool to the Corvette. This allowed me to transfer the canned Diablosport tune to the Corvette. I chose the 91 tune for the PCM and the Firm tune for the TCM.

I was primarily looking for an improvement in drivability which the canned tune supplied. The throttle response appeared to be more linear and the automatic gear shifting more predictable. As a fringe benefit the gas mileage improved a little.

As I had installed a Halltech MF103 intake and 160’ thermostat I then decided on a mild/street custom tune from ECS. This seemed to further improve the throttle response and the automatic gear shifting seemed a little more aggressive.

Although I enjoyed my Corvette before the tune I found the non linear throttle response and sometimes unpredictable/laggy automatic gear changes a little irritating. Both the Diablosport and ECS tunes improved these two items.

Once I’ve had some more seat time in the Corvette I’ll be sending Doug at ECS a log file to verify everything is running OK.

While the initial backup and Diablosport canned tune transfer went smoothly the custom tune required considerably more patience to finally be able to make a successful download to the Corvette. My thanks to Doug at ECS and Mike at Diablosport for resolving the custom tune transfer problem.

In the event your Trinity/Intune experience is not initially plug and play, hang in there and I think you will be impressed by the improvements in your driving experience.
