Default Warning lights!!

Hi everyone, I just purchased my very first Corvette, 2006 Daytona Sunset Orange, 7,500 original miles, 6 speed manual. On our way home together for the first time it suddenly showed the SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL warning in the dash display. I pulled over, shut the car off, restarted and it cleared. About 30 minutes later at highway speed the entire display lit up showing Service EVERYTHING!!! WTF?? I then lost my fuel gauge, temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, and the HUD only showed speedometer and a warning under it to CHECK GAUGES. Pulled over again, **** it off, checked the oil (fine) restarted and all was clear except the small security lock light in lower left stayed on. Got home, shut her off, restarted....all lights out, everything working as it should. Did a little research and came upon a recall for c6's that effected 40,000 units. Apparently a connector in the column for tilt/ telescopic is fraying? GM RECALL #10V172000.....Anyone chime in on this? Thanks.....newbie here.

Default Not too cool!

They had a "so called" problem that they blamed was causing a front wheel locking up and they blamed it on the steering wheel telescope electrical connector for flexing and dealers installed a "clip" on the connector. The NTSB had a car that they were trying to duplicate the problem, but couldn't, that was several years ago. Have heard no more. I never had the problem but the clip was installed and takes but a moment at the dealer. Of course, this makes you feel good on a curvy mountain road for the front wheel to lock up and you possibly go over the side!
