Removing MAP sensor?
I'm familiar with MAF-less speed density tunes, currently running a boosted LTx motor in a 92 vette. However I dont know much about MAF tunes and I'm just about to drop a built LS2 (no boost) in another car, and will likely be using a C6 Corvette PCM.
One of the guys I'm working with on the build has spent time in SCCA and tells me that some people are removing the MAP sensor, but he couldn't specifically tell me why other than 'it makes things too complicated'. Removing the MAP sensor sounds like maybe a bad idea, so I thought I'd open up for opinions in this forum.
Cheers
Andy
Remove map sensor and you remove a lot of functions that run off map such as, charcoal canister purge solenoid, DFCO (decel fuel cut off) function, Long term fuel trim boundaries, PE mode enable parameters, Knock learn, transient fueling parameters.
I guess you can run without all these things, or you can just learn.
