Hey guys! I am getting ready to install LG long tubes with 3" X pipe and a VR intake on my '10 Grand Sport. The car came with a Trinity tuner and I'm looking for a base tune to get me going till I can get to the tuner and do it right. I'm on a tight budget and I'm trying to get the car ready for my birthday TD at Sebring in early October.
I'd be willing to pay a fee for something to carry me over till I can get it done properly. I would need a file that was done with Diablo's CMR so I can load it with the Trinity. It doesn't have to be a tune for these exact parts. Anything for headers w/no cats and a CAI will get me started. Also, I need the tune with the rear O2s turned off. Just enough to run it for a while to log the LTFTs. Then I can tweak it enough to tide me over.
I raced motorcycles for many years where we use Dynojet's Power Commander piggyback tuner. They have base tunes for common mods that do what I'd like to do here. Apparently, Diablo doesn't do that so, I'm kinda stuck. If this can't be done like this or if there is a better way please let me know.
Any help here would be appreciated. You all know how it is to have parts sitting in the garage waiting for installation! LOL!
I wanted to give a shout out for Lew and a big "Thumbs Up" for getting the tune done for me last night! Got the car back from the shop from the header install late but Lew hooked me up with reviewing my logs and getting the tune out to me very quickly!
I'm heading out this morning for the NASA TD and Races at Sebring this weekend! I'll post up photos and video next week....
Here's a little video from the Sebring NASA HPDE weekend I attended with Lew's help. This was my first time out with the car and my first time with NASA so I started out in group one. I got bumped to Group 2 with solo signoff on Saturday and had the sessions on Sunday to see what the car (and myself) were capable of. I managed to turn a 2:40 lap in traffic running the Bridgestone RFTs and stock brakes. The only mods are a Vararam and LG long tubes (1 3/4") with "X" pipe and NPP.
I had a blast with these guys at Sebring and highly recommend this as a TD for any driver!
Was that Z06 slightly race prepped? For a while it was like a great corvette promotional video with you two going at it. Great effort for a first time out.

Yea... he was modded. The biggest difference was tires. He was on A6s... me on the Bridgestone Pole Position run flats... which were pretty impressive I must say!
First outing with the GS... I raced motorcycles for a lot of years and ran my V6 Camaro a few times at Sebring and Homestead. This was a baseline run for future mods. Suspension and tires next! LOL!
I was actually set to offer my Camaro up for the initial tune with you guys when it first came out.
Sweet. My roommate has a C5 with coil-overs....its amazing. It also makes a little more power than yours
I have to ask, what kind of abuse did you put on the brakes and tires during that event?
I want to get my new ATS out there and run some laps!!
You'll love it if you do get out there! It's very addictive!
It depends how hard you run but, tires on mine just barely scuffed but I did use the brakes pretty hard. If I had to guess, I'd say I used up 1000 miles worth of brakes and 3-400 worth of tires. That was doing 7 sessions with 6 laps per at 3.7 miles/lap. Less than 200 hard miles.... That was a two day event though. You can opt for just one day for most event weekends.
