Default Will OBD11 trigger shift light?

Can you use the 16 pin OBD11 to signal shift light in a 2008 Corvette with factory tach? Or is the only way to do it is to use a MSD 8918, that is $49.18+shipping? Thanks

Here ya gohttp://www.speedhut.com/gauges/sstmax/search:sstmax

Without a plug and play OBDII gauge you would need to hook directly into the engine speed signal coming of the ECM. It can also be found in the harness on the drivers side going to the instruments.

Thanks, I should have come back and posted it,I brought one of their OBDII shift lights and it was very easy to hook up.All you have to do is plug it in the OBDII port and its working, the only problem I had with it was the 2 sided tape would not stick to my dash so I put some Gorilla glue on it and slide the wire in behind my dash and so far it does everything they said it would do. It is ideal for a Corvette

Everything needed comes with it.You just plug it in to your OBDII port and take the 2 sided tape off (I had to use some gorilla glue to stick it to the dash)and place it where you want it to go,next slide the wire behind the edge of your dash and wire tie the wire up out of the way. As simple as it is,it is almost to good to be true. And so far it works perfect and does everything they said it would do.
