Default detonation and spark plugs

last race season I took my 06 auto base to the track. I have a Intune. With the 93 tune I got a bunch (like 12 degrees or more) spark. I upped the fuel (wbo2 12.8) and back the timing down. It helped but still knocked. I've tried different brand fuels, etc but am still getting detonation. I can actually hear it at times. I installed the 91 tune, same thing. Thinking of a spark plug change, maybe going 1 step colder. the car has exhaust and varraram. any ideas on the issue? what plugs should I use? thanks in advance.

If your engine uses the 41-110 as the LS3 than you could try the LS7/LS9 41-104 or whatever is the next cooler iridium plug for your engine is.
Also I have read here that the "carbon treatment" which makes a lot of smoke has worked wonders for those that have had problems getting rid of knock. I don't want to mention names but that advice iirc came from a guy who knows how to make serious hp. PS: I have never tried to de-carbonize any of my engines so I have no experience to offer.

I started a thread way back when regarding cooler plugs, TR 6. Back to back plug change only.
