2005 LS2 P0430 code
I recently performed these upgrades:
2005 LS2 42k on the block
Installed GMPP LS3 CNC heads
Installed LS9 cam
Installed 60 lb injectors
Installed LS7 lifters
Installed new oil pump and timing chain
Installed new 2005 LS2 cam gear (learned about that one the hard way)
Installed Kooks Long tube headers and there Green High flow cats.
I had the car tuned at PCM of NC - put down 450 hp to the tire.
I've been driving it around since I got it out of the body shop and the car is throwing a P0430 code - Power Train - Catalyst System Efficiency below threshhold (Bank 2).
After doing some research - it looks like it could be a bad 02 sensor - the HF cats have less then 700 miles on them.
I think I will try switching out the rear 02 sensors to see if the problem moves to the other side.
Is bank 2 the passenger side?
I drove the car 500 miles this weekend and the damn CEL came on when I was 5 mins from home - idling at a stop light after I got off the interstate.
It drove just fine in an out of the NC/TN mountains.
It seems to throw the CEL when I am idling - but it doesn't do it every time.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
This can easily be tuned out. Replacing the 02 will not fix your problem. The 420/430 codes can be tuned out of the PCM within 5 minutes. Problem solved.
And yes, bank 2 is the passenger side.
