Not that simple. The TCM that controls the 6L80 wont work on a 4L60. You need a transmission controller to do that.

I am using the PCS TCM-2000 to control the trans. i believe all i need to do is flash a 6 speed manual file to the car so its not looking for the 6L80..correct me if im wrong..

Just off topic but why did you replace the supposedly superior 6L80 with a 4L60?

The reason I ask the question is because I am looking to buy an auto C6 and don't know whether to get the 4 or 6 speed.

The car was making just under 800 rwhp and I could not keep a trans together. It was built with the best parts available at the time and tuned by the transmission builder.

Back then with the proper tuning the clutches would not survive in a built 6L80. The RPM built 4L60 was and still is a beast and will take a beating.

is it a good strategy to program 3-4 shift so it will not go into overdrive at more than 75% throttle position.

At 155 mph on the dyno with a 3:42 gear and a 28" tall tire mine still has a lot of rpm left in it before it would need to go into overdrive.Definitely don't want it to go into overdrive on a 1/4 mile pass
