07 Z06, full exhaust, intake, untuned making 485rwhp.
I have a fairly nasty 94 Z28. 383 H/C/I. Used to have spray and ran high 10's, etc.
My question is this: The Camaro used to engine brake hard. If I left off of the gas in gear at 5k rpm, it would slow me down quite a bit. The Z06 seems to sit at the same rpm and slowly drop. Without any major modifications, what is the possibility of getting this car to engine brake better? Any damage foreseen to the stock components?
This is an interesting idea. I have a c6z too and would like if it would "brake" a bit harder when off throttle/down shifting. I used to have a 350z and it would engine break much better than the Vette.
I would mess with DFCO and min airflow to see they make any difference. Drastically reduce the min airflow able above 1200 RPM's and see if it makes any difference at all
Also see if DFCO is using stock settings or if it has been disabled.
It's a total guess on my part but that is what I would try..

If you alter the minimum idle airflow table you risk having the engine DIE wen you lift off the gas---On a stockish engine I wouldn't mess with it
The DFCO is deceleration fuel cut-off------You can try disabling the DFCO---But I doubt you will get any engine braking--
And the corvette I am asuming is also a stick with 3:15 gears?
All manuals have a 3.42 rear and if I remember right, the same ratios in the tranny. If they're different, it's minimal.
Z51 cars and ZR1s had different ratios.
I'm telling you, try lowering min airflow and if you really want RPM's to drop fast when press the clutch in then enable clutch fuel cutoff (CFCO). I've had mine where it drops faster than I can shift without looking like a maniac before.
