Default Flash Log?

Is there a flash log in the ECM? So if i have a tune then return to stock, can the dealer determine that?

I've got a set of headers that I'm itching to install, along with a tune. BUT I've still got the GMEPP and I want to minimize hassle with getting any potential issues with getting something fixed. I've heard mixed input as to whether headers will negate any warranty fixes, but it's pretty unanimous that a tune would. So I'm thinking that I want something that I can return to stock pretty easily.. without an electronic trail...

I used the Diablo and got a custom tune from Diablo Lew for this exact reason.

Had my car at the Dealer on Friday ....not to worried any more as my dealer knows I have headers and really does not care . Really when you think about it , if the bottom end blows is it because we are running headers ....

Doesn't matter what caused it, it's just something that gives them an excuse.

My understanding is there is a CVN log that keeps a record of the last 10 tunes that were flashed on to it. Whether they would ever actually notice this, I have no idea.

If you google Calibration Verification Number History you should find more info on it.

Is there a flash log in the ECM or any way for GM to tell that I did have a tune in? I just got the GMEPP warranty, but also bought headers that I want to install. I would need a tune with them, but want to minimize loss of the warranty.

Thanks!

there is no trace , I just had my car at the dealer for an A6 flashflash . Our Mechanic, who is really cool about this subject said I had the latest software and he could not see that the tune was modified in any way

He said they would have to record it then send n it away for someone to confirm that a car did not have a stock tune

Cool. So you had a Diablo tune and then reverted back to stock to take it into the dealer? Or did you leave the diablo tune in and he couldn't tell?

I did not revert back to my original tune ... it is pointless

I have the Gold Warranty on mine which covers bumper to bumper so this is why I was concerned but I am not sure it would matter
this was for my Diablo Lew TCM tune , I then asked him to "Scan" my ECM which also has a Lew tune and he said it came back with " you have the latest software". I have the printout for both

Now they are no dummies ..... they see my LSX R manifold, They see the LG headers , they see the cats are farther downstream than the factory cat position.....they hear how healthy the car sounds . they know that you have (or had) a tune ....

So make friends with your dealer , because they can deny your claim depending on what breaks ....

Obviously when my Harmonic balancer let loose , this had nothing to do with if I had a tune or not ..

My shift flair , was a known problem , again does not matter right ...

But I am not sure what would make them deny a claim because they can see the modifications ....
