Help doing a Drive Cycle
This past Summer I replaced the battery and in doing so the battery was disconnected for over a day.
After installing new battery I went for my NJ State Motor Vehicle Inspection.
I was asked if I had battery disconnected recently and I said yes long enough to install new battery.
I was told I had to drive my car through a Drive Cycle session, and then they gave me instructions.
I did a few and went back three days later, I failed again and was told to do more of the same.
I still have not passed but was told I had to have one more Sensor reset.
What am I doing wrong that it is taking me so long to complete this ? .

What I've found does encourage the Cat test to run is the "drive at a sustained speed for a few minutes then stop and idle for a few minutes" part of the GM drive cycle. So highway driving or creeping in stop and go traffic didn't get it done but driving in Houston off peak suburban traffic for about 30min did.
There is a way to command the Evap test to run with a Tech2 if you have one, but as it turns out, it's not necessary to pass emissions.
The good news is you only need 6 of the 7 I/M monitors to show "ready" to pass emissions inspection in most states. So the dam Evap test can never run and you can still pass inspection, as long as everything else is OK. Texas is that way, don't know about Jersey. Check w/ your inspection guys and hopefully you only need 6.
Hope this helps, good luck.

i’ll post outcome once I have time to try after the snow has gone away.
I learned a good lesson “never disconnect battery on newer vet”.
most states only require 6 of the 7 monitors
