Default Tune question

So the last time I got the car tuned was in Las Vegas, it made 545hp with just my supercharger kit. Then I added the cam, exhaust, and dynoed after that and it was at 625. I installed the Aeromotive a1000 system in it and live in Florida so I decided to get it retuned and dynoed. They were able to get a max 530 hp..: I really don’t understand. Any help?

Yes, strange. What shop did the last dyno and where do you live in Florida?

Emerald coast motor sports, and they use 5th gear automotive, I think they are in Tennessee. I live in the Destin area.

confused...was it dyno'd in FL or TN?
Regardless, dyno numbers are just numbers. Track will tell the true power output.
Does it feel as strong as it did when it was making 645 in LV?

I've seen 15% differences between Dyno's, so that could account for quite a bit of it. Add in correction factors being applied differently between the two and I could see getting a 20% difference overall.

Probably a combo of the two to be honest.

Track MPH is where you'll be able to tell if it's faster or slower.

Pretty much echo what the others have said... brand of dyno (Dynojet vs. Mustang), what correction factors were used (were they both SAE corrected?), etc. will have an impact on numbers between dyno to dyno. That's why getting a "base" is best before any mod so you can see any gain in the mod and tune. If your car based at 520 hp on that same dyno and then after the mod/tune was 525, you'd know you made some extra power.

I've seen some shops "correct" the Mustang dyno numbers to reflect what they think a Dynojet will read essentially just to report higher numbers to the customer. It makes some customers happy to be able to print out big inflated numbers and show their buddies. Not saying the LV shop did that, but just saying, numbers are just numbers and should be taken with a grain of salt.

At 625 whp I'd think you should trap in the low 140 mph range. As schpenxel said, that's where you'll know.
