Gentlemen, I am in the process of adding long tube headers (no cats), catch can, and a better air intake on a base '05 6 speed. My concern is how important is the tune after these changes? Realizing I am eliminating the downstream O2's and will get a code, the idea of a $600 dyno tune seems overkill for the results expected?
Any thoughts or suggestions please..................
If you have a through tuner nice improvement's can be made to a stock vehicle without headers, that is worthwhile. Adding the headers & the rest of your add on's should be a notable improvement.
Far more involved than turning off the rear NB's, quality of your tune person is key. I would do some research on that.
The factory LS2 intake is choke point, that would also be a worthwhile swap if you are wanting to maximize the bolt on's.
