Generator 3-wire connection help.
Here's, what is probably, a stupid question. I'm reworking a 2008 Corvette LS3 harness for install in a 1968 C3.
I have a red/white wire from pin D on the generator (alternator) plug going back toward the ECU. It does not have a place to go on the ECU. I'm guessing I need to route it to a 12 V+ batt hot supply.
Then it dawned on me, does this connection NEED voltage, or does it SUPPLY voltage.
I'm at a loss to where this wire goes.

On the C6 it goes from the alternator to B+ by way of the horn/alt sense fuse and is hot at all times. So yes, on your C3 connect it thru a fuse to B+.
Be sure to post pictures of your resto mod project.
