Default Replacing an E40 ECM

I have an oppertunity to purchase an E40 ECM for my 2005 C6 LS2 24x application for a very reasonable price.

But its from a V6 car. Can that ECM be reprogrammed to work with my V8 platform? Are they interchangable?

If so, What companies doe this?

There are sellers on EBay that offer those services. You send them the ECM and your VIN and they will reprogram the ECM to your car. Post a picture of the white tag on the top of the ECM that is for sale.

Just be aware that the ECM you are after was only available with 5.3Land 6L vehicles. There is another model of ECM that looks similar but was for 6 cylinder engines. The 6 cylinder version will not work.

Post a picture of the white tag and I can tell you.👍

Here is a photo I took showing the correct service numbers for the ECM you are seeking. The top of the list shows the service numbers from the various cars they were installed in. Any one of those numbers will be correct. The lower part of the list shows which vehicle used this ECM.

You can see that this ECM was only used in 2005 and 2006 V8 LS engines. I carry this list with me every time I go to a wrecking yard.
