I noticed with the last cool down that the tire pressures were not accurate. they read, but not the right numbers. I tried to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, but later learned that this didnt do anything except set the tpms to 0 and reset my fueling and make the car grumpy.
I then found a thread that told me to put the car into learn mode, and air down/up the tires. but that didnt work either.
i found another thread that told me i needed a tool, so i ordered that, and STILL cannot get it to work.
factory TPMS but in aftermarket forgestar wheels. I have tried every angle, distance, inside the wheel, etc. cant get it to answer.
this is the tool i got. It even states that they "factory tested" my 2011 vette. what am i doing wrong?
This TPMS relearn method is for 2010 to early 2011 C6. Not sure about C6 prior to 2010.
Model years 2011.5 and newer requires the reset tool.
1) Put car in Accessory mode (push on bottom of start button instead of top)
2) Put car in TPMS learn mode by pressing and holding both lock and unlock buttons on the fob until Car horn honks once, signaling that it is ready.
3) Starting with LF, press valve stem to let air out of tire. Continue releasing air until horn honks. This could take 5-15 seconds of release before it signals.
4) Proceed to RF, RR, and finally LR, and perform step 3 above at each tire, waiting for the horn honk before proceeding to the next tire.
5) After success on the LR, the horn honks twice to signal completion of the process.
6) Shut down car and refill all tires to desired normal pressure (30 psi is standard).
