Default Muffler Repair Effect on Handling ?

Something truly bizarre happened this week. I brought car into dealer to have cracked muffler paint on stock mufflers fixed. When I got the car back, the rear suspension felt softer and the steering less precise (more understeer). They swear rear thresway bar was properly reconnected after repair. Any ideas ?

Click:This one is easy.
Clack: Yes it is. they painted right over the muffler bearings.
Click: In addition, they used latex pain. Not oil paint.
Clack: Now time for the puzzler.............

Hmmmm,

Sometimes they have to loosen the suspension/tranny bolts to get the passenger side exhaust off the car. Make sure they tightened them correctly if they indeed did loosen them.

I thought they got those damn muffler bearing problems fixed in September. I thought it only effected the first couple of hundred cars!

Not kidding. Have you never taken your car into a dealer for one thing---and have it come back with a totally different problem ? If that has never happened to you, you should consider yourself lucky.

This is an easy one.

The dealer forgot to re-align the quantum flux-capacitor.
