Engine Temp

Could someone tell what the normal engine temp is suppose to be? and at what temp the electric fan comes on. Thanks

engine temp

The thermostat n C6's is 186.6 degrees or 86 deg cent. The car should operate at between 192-198 degrees. fans should come on at 217 degrees. These fans are a variable speed fans, which means they start slow at 217 and increase in speed if temps don't drop. These cars make good power in the 190's, but not at over 200. Then it starts pulling timming out.

Mine has been as high as 223 and I can't tell if the fan is on.

I've been told the LS2 engine is expected to run a little hotter than the LS1 and that my C6 running consistently at 199 to 201 deg. is about right. Even sitting in a slow-moving fast-food take-out lane, mine never gets above 205 or 206.
