Default FOB not detected

I have found one cause that prevents my vehicle from detecting the FOB. I would get the no FOBs detected message pretty randomly, maybe 2/10 times and thought that maybe it had something to do with my cell phone in the same pocket, but I experimented with various things near my key FOB and found these things:

1. I surrounded it with several cell phones and it worked everytime (including Nextels)

2. I then tried putting the key FOB for my other vehicle, since sometimes they are both in my pocket, a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, and it didn't work nearly everytime. Basically if the two FOBs are in close proximity I get the FOB not detected message and as soon as they are separated it works fine. I am not pushing any buttons on the other FOB and if I take the battery out of my truck's FOB it makes the situation even worse! (I thought maybe it was sending out a signal, so I took the battery out of it).

Based on this, I'm curious if the same condition is present for everyone, maybe some Corvette drivers keep more than one key FOB on their key ring which may be causing them some frustration.

Please post back if you experience similar situtation., to test it out find another key fob and hold it together with yours and try going to acc. and back several times.

Thanks,
Nick

I keep a chevy Tahoe (99) fob in the same pocket at times and have noticed no affect on the vette fob.
