Default Access to headlight area

Just got a new C6 and have a rather odd question. There seems to be a small piece of tape or clear plastic in the passenger side headlight. This is the area that is covered by the clear glass. Before I take it back to the dealer, is there an easy way to get access to this area?

I have the same problem in the passenger side head lamp. I decided it wasnt worth having the dealer take it apart for that. They might create more problems when they take it apart. please post if you find a easy way to do it yourself!

Default Headlamps

The headlamps are sealed, well sort of, they let air and moisture in but you can't get in there unless you pull out the complete assembly and use a pair of loooooong forcips to latch on to it through the headlamp bulb opening. My guess is the dealer will replace it.

I tried the access through the wheel well. As far as I can tell, it allows access to the back of the lights to change bulbs but I cannot see how it lets you get to the painted area in front of the lights. I did take this rubber cover off and removed the rubber cover to the back of the lights. All I could see was a small gap that was almost impossible to get anything in to remove the item. I even tried some high pressure air to at least move the thing out of the way so it was not so conspicuous - no luck. If I am missing something, please tell me, it is bugging the heck out of me but I hate to let the dealer mess with a replacement.

I think the only way to get where you want is to demount one of the light assemblies from the housing and in looking at the back of the housing>>>

I can even see how to do that...I don't think you want to go there considering you might end up breaking something I let dealership do that...then it is on their ticket

Default so this is why we have to send the car into a dealership when the low beams go out?
