Default Squeak on hard upshifts

I have found that on hard upshifts, especially the 1-2 and the 2-3, there is a brief squeak as I come off the clutch and get back on the throttle. I know on the C5 during hard upshifts (1-2 in particular) you could chirp the rear tires and i was expecting that on my C6. It may be also worth noting that i have a z51 equipped MN6 and the rear tires are not chirping on said upshifts.

Has anyone else had this? Anyone have any ideas as to what could be squeaking? The clutch? Is it worth having it looked at, or am I just being paranoid?

Thanks for any input.

I have heard the same thing. Was also uncertain of the source. I actually thought it might have been the sole of my shoe on the pedal. ???

It is the serpentine belt slipping. When you shift, you abruptly change engine RPM. All of your accessories like the alternator, PS pump, and A/C compressor are driven by the crank pulley. Before you shift, the crank pulley and all the accessory pulleys are turning at 6,000 to 6,500 RPM. Then when you shift, the crank pulley suddenly goes from 6,500 RPM down to 4,000 RPM but all of the other accessory pulleys are still turning at 6,500 RPM and must be slowed down to 4,000 RPM to match the crank pulley. The only way they get slowed down is via the belt, which slips a little bit due to the abrupt change in speed.

Completely normal.
