The chevy site says the Z51 contains "special performance gear ratios in both automatic and manual versions". Does anyone have any info as to what the ratios are and what gas mileage and acceleration is like compared to base. I really want the F55 but I don't think I can get the more aggressive tranny with it
Isn't the Z51 ratio change accomplished in the differential? I thought there was only one flavor of 4L65-E transmission for the C6.
Nope. All manuals get the 3.15 rear, Z51 manual gets the tranny upgrage in addition. For autos, the tranny is the same with Z51 or without, but the diff gear is different (don't remember the auto ratios). The upgraded differential in the auto Z51 is also available without Z51 as the "performance axle ratio". I think it's only like $300 for that option.

Not exactly...yes the Z51 optioned manual trans gets the upgrades but ALL manuals come with 3.42s only, not 3.15s.

That is correct, the standard auto rear has 2.73s in it, the optional one is 3.15.
