Default Door Sill Installation

What's better for removing any left over adhesive, 3M Adhesive & Wax Remover or Goo-Gone.

Use VMP Naphtha, that whats recommended on the GM accessory sill installation instructions for removing the remaining adhesive from the old sill covers. I used it and it worked great.

You can get it at a hardware store for about $4. Its basically paint thinner (don't worry it doesn't hurt your finish). Just pust some on a rag and wipe. If you didn't get instructions with the sill plates I can fax you a copy. Send me a PM with a fax number if you want them. When you peel the old sill covers off use a hair dryer to heat up the surface and keep the dryer pointed on it as your pulling up the old cover. Also, for placement of the new sill plate, place it where you want it and tape the inner top edge of the sill plate to the inner lip on the sill. Use this as a hinge so when you pull of the backing on the new cover it will just flip down into place. It was a pretty simple installation.
