Default C6 Full Open Throttle Question

I Was Just Wondering, When Slamming The Pedal To The Floor Could The Black Little Plastic Box In Back Of The Pedal Where The Pedal Lays When Floored Be Restricting The The Throttle From Opening Fully Resulting In A Loss In Performance?

The box is part of the throttle control system. It measures the angle of the pedal and how fast you are pushing it to give the PCM some idea on how fast to open the throttle. I have 2 cars with this type of system and we had a third we traded a while back, none of them suffered any damage from my size 13 being slammed on it once and a while....

There are also several different throttle position sensors just in the pedal part of the drive-by-wire system. If one of them gets broken, the others take over and you get a message on the DIC about the bad one. Of all the gadgets on the C5 and C6, the drive-by-wire is probably the least problematic as it is a very solid system with backups.
