95mph (or thereabouts) onwards?
Does anyone have a handy conversion for mph to rpm
for the auto in 3rd gear?

But, I think that worldwide people would think of coming to California before Ontario, and we (us Californians) don't have to buy foreign sports cars because our nation doesn't build any...
How does that change the fact that you can't have any tuners modify your C6?
of calculations to determine torque at rpm points.
Here's a rough estimate based on the LPE graph and
assuming an automatic with a 3.15 rear gear:
MPH RPM stock tq h/c tq
170 6900 N/A 300
160 6500 263 327
150 6100 285 345
140 5700 310 353
130 5300 320 360
120 4900 337 362
110 4500 342 365
100 4100 344 355
90 3700 340 N/A
The LPE h/c engine has a much flatter torque curve
and really shows a dramatic difference above 5000
rpm, with 21% more torque at 6000 rpm.
It's too bad data isn't available below ~4000 rpm.
Also, it would be fascinating to compare against the
LPE 402 LS package.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention that Ron Zimmer is out here as well

As long as the LPE (or any other tuners) package passes an actual emissions test (meaning the numbers coming out of the tail pipe), no smog tester is going to know (they don't actually open the engine). So as long as it passes a visual inspection and the numbers it would pass. The biggest problem is with LT headers as they move the cats, hence failing a visual inspection (which the LPE package doesn do). But then again you'd have to get a tester that knows what a stock C6 looks like to fail you. I mean we're talking Jiffy Lube and the like here doing the inspections, they really don't care.
So any work you have done on the block (cam, heads, rockers, etc...), plus any tuning work, and even cat-back exhaust can all pass emissions out here as long as the numbers coming out the tail pipe are within spec.
As a last resort I've also heard the 'here's a $100 kid' trick works just about everytime as well
.Ohh, and those are excellent numbers!!! congrats to Blue and LPE on a fantastic job. Now I need to hide my credit card!!!!

and had the hassle of failing an inspection? What
happened to you? What did you end up doing?
And isn't it now 6 years until inspection for a brand
new car?

I believe it is 4 years before DMV asks for emissions. I usually don't keep them that long.
My 2 cents

that have done it, hence where I've gotten my information. I can tell you I modded my 350z with an intake, flywheel and exhaust and passed inspection without any hassles at all. It's the warranty service denial that I'm more afraid of, mainly for the LT headers. I believe it was shopdog who brought up a good point in a different thread on how LT headers make the car illegal because they move the cats, so hence that's enough of a reason for a dealership to legally deny service. So I'm considering a cam, exhaust, and intake with tuning for now. I'm very curious to see the outcome of Callaway's short tube headers and how much improvement they will provide as they shouldn't move the cats (of course I dunno if this is true as they haven't released any info on them yet
.Otherwise from talking with over C6 owners that have moded their vettes (old and new), passing emissions doesn't seem to be that much of an issue out here in Cali
.
