Default Z51 Additional Oil Cooling? How?

When GM describes the Z51 package they say: "additional cooling for power steering, engine oil and transmission". When I think of "additional cooling" I assume some form of radiator.
But I notice in the owners manual that the required oil fill for the C6 is 5.5 quarts, with no mention of additional oil capacity for the Z51.
How do they achieve the additional cooling? Sounds like it is not an additional radiator because that would require more oil. Am I missing something here?

Well you made me look.....
Looks like the Engine oil is routed from the filter housing throught the drivers side of the radiator (like an outomatic transmision is normally).
The Trans cooler is the same on the passenger side of the radiator.
The Power steering cooler is a seperate added unit mounted by the steering rack.
As to why there is no additional fluid required, my guess would be that it either doesnt drain or the ~3/8" diameter of the line doesn't hold enoough volume to warrant a seperate spec.

Default Additional coolers with Z51 package

There is no additinal "OIL" in the crankcase for these coolers. It doesn't work that way. Traditionally, there would be a transmission cooler (about 10" by 13" and 1 1/2 inch thick) in front of the radiator.
Any other cooler usually was of similar design and placement.

But, from what I read in a magazine article a few months ago, they are running these through the radiator, like some other cars do with the transmission coolers internal to the radiator.

But, I will go look on my car and make sure I know, if it is different then what I read months ago, I will let you know.

By the way, the 5.5 quarts of oil is because they changed the oil pan design from the LS1 Z06 oil pan design. It had kick outs and special baffles internal that did not do the best job when cornering hard. You could actually "starve" the 2004 Z06 if you were on a track letting it hang out on the curves. This of course is not good. So, they redesigned the oil pan and pickup.
There are pictures of this in last month's Hot Rod magazine and either the Super Chevy or Chevy High Performance mags. It is really slick how they did it, plus elimination of the kickouts in the pan decreased the oil capacity. Now, I wonder if it will run as cool, with less oil overall???

Default Transmission cooler?

I know of some performance cars that have automatic's had transmission coolers run through the radiator but does the C6 6spd do the same thing. Or is it just the automatic's? Anybody know?
