Why is it that i feel my a4 c6's launch so slow, I even felt my a4 ls1 t/a's launch way faster than the c6 back when i had the t/a stock. The c6 does feel quick and fast on a roll, but on a dead stop it takes to long to pick up. Is there anything restricting the car from picking up when putting the pedal to the medal off a dead stop, or did anything on the car come governed from releasing the full torque. I was recently told something about the torque management on the car, that its a matter of releasing the torque, that the pcm was programmed not to release the full torque, or something like this.

I take it you bought an automatic? I'm guessing from you saying "putting the pedal to metal" from a dead stop. Get the RPM's up to about 3500 with your foot on the brake before launch, I have no experience with automatic transmissions so I really don't know. If you have a MT, put the RPM's up to 3000 - 3500 and dump the clutch.

Did you turn off traction control?
My C5 auto couldn't burn rubber without turning it off.
Also, do the 'brake torque trick' as AllBlackC6 states.
Well ive tried it with the traction and active handling off, although I was just reading through the specs of the car and I do have the 2:73 gears so thats why I might be feeling it a little bit slower, or its just me that im used to my stroked out 383 ls1 with a 4400 torque converter on it
Aside from the "feelgood", why would you WANT to smoke the tires ? Just losing traction...I'd rather whup the guy next to me.
And LeMans Blue is THE fastest !
Jeez, if your used to a high stall behind a hopped small block then your certainly going to notice a little less ooph out of the hole in your new car. Oh, and guys. Face it. The silver is faster. Plus if you get the black interior the little known but very real Armani affect will net you another 3/10s in the quarter.

There lies your answer-2.73's. I suspect you had the 3.23's in the T/A. I had an 02 z28 with the 2.73 rear and it came out slow and began building acceleration. My brother has the 3.23,s on his 02---there was a huge difference in the early pull. Now I spent wisely for the 3.15's and I get a hell of a launch. The performance rear is money well spent as changing later involves a change in the carrier as well and cost about 2k. I even put about 40/50 extra horses on my old Camaro and from 30 to 120 it ran extremely well---but from a stop it was always lacking.
