can anyone help me with some advice on which is the best bra for the C6. On previous cars they have left dull marks on the finish. any suggestions.
Check this out, I got it from Fichtner Chevrolet, and its also in the forum info under Ken's Newsletter. If you get the GM bra and have a problem, most likely GM will get it fixed. My C5 GM bra worked great, and left no markes on the Tourch Red. So, I'm going to try the one for the C6 from GM on the Millennium Yellow. It's made by the same folks that made the C5 bra. It $79.50 at Fichtner's, according to the web info.
From Fichtner:
The C6 bra does not have plastic over the headlamps, but cutouts
around th bottom of the lamp. We have sold quite a few of these already
and no complaints about fit at all. The quality looks excellent on the
cover. It mounts with snaps and hooks similar to the C5 bra.

i just installed the C-6 GM bra on mine and i have 2 problems. the 2 center plastic clips on the top of the inside grill opening do not match up with the tabs on the bumper cover. they are about 3/4" off towards the center. the 2 top inside the grill opening side plastic clips will not fit because there is no gap for them to fit into. the top center one i fixed by installing a piece of aluminum rod between the grill vertical bars and hooked the plastic clips to that. i am stll working on the side clip problem. the bra fit great and is very tight just like the same bra, made by "perfect fit" for the C-5s. this may just be a problem with my C-6 since it was a early one and there could have been some production changes made.

I have the 3M film & a Colgan bra for my setup. The 3M will keep any sand away from the painted surface and the bra adds a "heavy duty" protection layer if you will. I also went with Xpel for the headlight & foglights protection.
The Colgan bra (color is black) is top shelf. Fits real tight, easy to put on/off & the cost was $109. The 3M on the other hand cost $750 (material/install).
Did you see this price in the VA Beach area or Alexandria?.... Where?
Officially called "Scotchgard Paint Protection".
UltraShield in Chesapeake is the guy I spoke to in Dec. He quoted me $650 for Hood, upper & lower bumper, lights & mirrors. Go to the site and you get a better idea of just what the pattern covers. Basically it begins just above the headlights and covers the whole front. Rear View Mirrors as well. For 650 I also got him to agree to do aft of the wheel wells too.
I'd steer clear of the "Perfect Fit" bra for the C6. Installation involves inserting two big tabs "carefully" between the headlight seals and the body panel on each side. Doing so pushes the seals down into the opening, and it's difficult to restore them to the proper position when you remove the bra. I sent mine back.

i have the GM bra and it is a "perfect fit" and the way to insert those tabs next to the headlights is to put a credit card in between the the seal and the fender and than insert the bra tab between the card and the fender. any piece of plastic will work in place of the credit card. i cut a piece from a plastic milk jug.
