I love my C6 and I can certainly tell the torque curve is broader. One thing confuses me. My C5 would slam into the rev limiter in 2nd before I even knew what was happening. I had to be more aware of where my RPMs were. On my C6, it seems to not be as peaky and its obvious that a shift is imminent. Is this because of the higher red line?
I know my C6 is deceptively fast. Other than the displacement, what are the differences?

Thanks.
The LS2 has more displacement, the 2001 Z06 Camshaft, and much higher compression (10.9:1 vs. 10.1:1). The heads are also different and have a higher flow. And the redline, as you've noted, is higher.
And, yes, the higher redline is probably why it seems to be the way you noted.

Brannon, can you tell me how you like the 3.42 gears in your c5. I have the 2.73, and want to convert to 3.42. Is it worth it. The cost is about $2,400. Thanks

Ken, I had the 6spd in my C5, but gearing is probably the best bang for your buck for acceleration. So, to answer your question...yes!

Sounds like highway robbery to me. For C5s, a new 3.42 carrier is $1000-1100, and install is about $500.
