Default Dynatech Headers

What made you decide to go with Dynatech Headers? It looks like they shouldn't be too much of a problem to install, they're bolt on. I'm anxious to hear if somebody else has installed dynatechs.

I drove my 2005 C6 home from the dealer. It sat for 4 weeks while I waited for the dynatech header and cats with x-pipe to show up. I installed the system with B&B route 66 cat back. The dynatech install was pretty easy compared to the longtubes in my C5. They install from the bottom. The hardest part for me was installing the pipes from the headers to the cat back because of so many clamps and I did it myself. I do have a car lift and 2 stands so that really helped. It probably took me about 13 hours but I really took my time and did it over about 4 days part time in the evenings. The hardest part was deciding how to route the front 02 extension wires. I cut some of the electrical tape back at the looms in the center of the valve covers to allow the wires/plugins to lay straight back over the valve covers down the back of the engine. Don't follow the directions when they tell ya to install the headers and then route the wires. You will be cussing because there is no hand room in there and I have medium sized hands.
The quality is great. You will just need to use a cheater to tighten the slip clamps for the cats/x-pipe to get them tight enough so you can't move the pipes after you are done. As far as performance, I don't really know yet. I have only had time to take it out once since then and I was taking it easy to break it in. I did notice that lightly accelerating you really hear the valve train chattering. If you give it more throttle and put more load the noise disappears. I think it is because of the 1-7/8" pipes. I had 1-5/8" on my C5 and the noise was only noticable from below the car while it was running. The only disappointment for me is the route 66 exhaust. At 55-60 mph I have terrible resonance. I never had that with my corsa indy's on the C5. Oh well, I will just have to drive faster. Hope this helps.

I attended a car show at the Dynatech factory today and they had a C6 on the lift with the complete system you could look at from under the car. It was absolutely awesome. I planned on have a set of B&B Route 66 exhaust installed Monday, I was so impressed with them I decided to add the Dyantech system also. They said they can add 35-40 more HP. They sound great with stock mufflers, too.
They took us in and showed exactly how they are made and it was really impressive.
It looks pretty easy considering what is involved. I am having a local Vette shop that works along with Dynatech install the system.

I think you will be pleased................................. .....
