I would like to replace the speakers in my C6. Could someone please tell me :
1. what size they are in the front
2. what size in the back and
3. if there's a subwoofer in the car.
Thanks so much for your help!
3.5's in the doors (upper)
10 inch Subs in each door (very thin 10 inchers)
5.25's in the rear
Not sure of the speaker in the dash, but i would think its a 3.5 as well...
You have the Bose system if you have the 1SB option.
Bose Audio System with Six-Disc CD Changer, MP3 Player and Seven Speakers
All Corvette models feature a seven-speaker AM/FM/MP3/CD stereo system with RDS.(1)
For superior audio performance, a Bose audio system with a six-disc in-dash CD/MP3 player is also available. The Bose system consists of a 3.5-inch speaker in the center of the dashboard, two 10-inch woofers, one in each door and two 3.5-inch speakers also one in each door located directly above the woofers. In coupe models, two 5.25-inch speakers are mounted on the left and right sides of the interior behind the seats. And in convertible models, two 5.25-inch speakers are mounted behind each seat.
Are the Bose speakers a different ohms than aftermarket speakers? If so, you would want to change the head unit if you are going to replace the speakers, correct?

The speakers are standard 4 ohm speakers. Note, however, that the rears are not wired in stereo. They're wired in parallel for mono in the Bose systems. The center dash speaker is also wired for mixed left and right. So the stereo image and soundstage aren't very good.
When I swapped out the 3.5 inch door speakers for Eclipse speakers, the sound of the system improved markedly. Disconnecting the center dash speaker entirely helped the stereo image (sound stage). Then I discovered the rears aren't stereo. To fix that is going to require replacing the Bose amp, because it only has a single rear channel.
I'm planning on keeping the head unit (Nav) because of its integration with the HUD. I wasn't going to change the amp, it is powerful enough to drive the Eclipses, but now that I've discovered it only has a single rear channel, it has to go.
On the 1SA package where are the 7 stereo speakers located?
On the door panels there is a speaker there but it doesn't have the words "BOSE" on it like other Corvettes do
I thought that both stereo options one with 6CD changer and the other single CD system were both BOSE systems?
Where are those speakers in the back or in the dashboard?
Are the speaker sizes and locations the same on a car without Bose? I'm ordering a coupe with the base stereo, since I had planned on replacing the speakers anyway.

They run about 3.2 ohms each (not sure of the subs...)

Let me know what you do, I have done exaclty what you have so far with the exception of the Amp... Any interface info you have would be welcome...
