Can you supply me with any pointers when jacking up the car? A couple of questions:
1. Can the car be lifted at one location in the front so 2 jack stands can be placed in the front at the same time?
2. Same question for the rear.
3. Are there any types of jack stands that work better on the C6 than others. I notice there are differences in the tops depending on the manufacturer.
4. Any other hints or suggestions?
I do have a good low profile jack and Elite jacking pads, just need info about the stands.
I only use the jacking areas pointed out in the owners manual, I don't jack my car under the rocker panels where you normally put the after market jacking pads......
The only way that you will be able to get your low profile jack under the front of the car is by 1st driving it onto some boards. There just isn't enough room under the front of the car.
The way that I do mine is to back up onto some ramps and then use 2 jacks, one on each side with jacking pucks, and then put jackstands at all 4 corners. Now I feel safe
You can raise the front or rear by jacking from the center of the crossmember on either end. On the front, you will have to drive the car on a board in order for the jack to clear the air dam. I always use a small section of 2x4 when jacking on the crossmembers for padding; probably not necessary.
