Just got my 2005 beautiful yellow coupe..........wow...........I need some help with mounting a front license plate. Does the bracket mount with just three pieces of adhesive? Doesn't seem like it would hold.

If you can help..............sure would appreciate it.

Don't have to run a front plate in my state, but the dozens of threads about it since last August indicate that the adhesive strips will hold the plate securely. Does your state require the plate?

Hold your horses! There's some alternatives to the GM supplied plate bracket! Do a search, as this has been covered thoroughly on this forum!

Most of us choose to carry the plate in the car, rather than mount it! Good luck with your decision!

Yep, folks claim it holds with the sticky. But I would not do it. There are a couple different designs from the aftermarket that look better and I would agree with drzfire that you look at the options before you mount that sucker. Mine sits behind the passenger seat. They will have to threaten to cut off my ***** and look like they really mean it before I will mount mine.

edit...Oh and how about a little more descriptive title for your threads. Thanks.

There are other options, but quite often, carrying the plate in your car is no substitute for mounting it on the front. In California that doesn't fly. I was pulled over twice for it, and I had my plate displayed in the front windshield. So, don't assume that that is a solution.

Mounting the plate on the front requires pop rivets, according to the manual on the dealership computer.........does that mean drilling holes in the front bumper?
